Art and Medical Practice

Christopher Waters

In response to my feeling of the need for a medical revolution. I constructed an image reflecting some of my thoughts. The piece is a black and white drawing of an art gallery with a patient as the exhibiting artist, standing in the centre looking forlorn and depressed. This is due to her doctors all looking away from her, concentrating on the works hanging in the gallery, all of which are attempting to convey her sense of helplessness. I have tried to represent how doctors can fail to see the real patient and focus only on one individual problem without anyone taking responsibility for the patient’s welfare and holistic care.
