Referring to a brusque attitude she has sometimes experienced attending medical consultants she wryly remarked ‘We do not want any of this anyway! you want to able to go up that road with all the colour not many people do go up the straight road we are all human beings. If we all had the same chances in life, such as good health – things could be very different.’

Eleanor also mentioned friends she felt did not deserve the ill-health they had endured and observed a hard won correlation between suffering and becoming a better person than some acquaintances who have been as yet. untouched by debilitating ill-health.
