The way the doctor sees the patient and how the doctor sees themselves

Catherine Trappes-Lomax

I have drawn this to highlight the difference between the way the doctor sees the patient, and how the patient sees themselves. It is drawn as though looking through the eyes of the doctor, who sees the patient as nothing but a collection of organs, muscles and bones with no emotions. The mirror on the wall shows how the patient views herself. The lady in the mirror is crying, showing the patient seeing herself as having feelings, whereas the doctor misses these emotions when he looks at her.
