The Streets of London

Lorna

Lorna describes how recently hearing Ralf McTell’s ‘ The Streets of London’ on the radio stopped her in her tracks and she became almost overwhelmed by the individual narratives of the characters. The song was already very familiar to her and obviously fictional yet she could not help wondering ‘what happened to these extraordinary and brave individuals’.

This painting honours those who have strayed from the ‘beaten path’ and Lorna recently shared with the group that ‘The Streets of London’ has become a grounding touch-stone for her – symbolizing the capacity for our perceptions to shift and deepen at any particular moment.
